Bellingham Kids’ Fest
The annual Bellingham Kids’ Fest is held on the first Saturday in August, at Civic Field, except for 2020 and 2021, when it was canceled due to coronavirus restrictions. This is a completely FREE family event that showcases a wide variety of services and opportunities for children and their families in Whatcom County. In addition to woodturning by NWW, there will be lots of other free activities for everyone to enjoy.
NWW regularly showcases 8 or more lathes. We normally set up around 10am. The Kids’ Fest starts at 11am and ends at 3pm. Lunch time refreshments are provided by participating organizations for the turners. We turn as many tops as we can, and there are typically more than twelve hundred kids and parents who attend. For any questions, contact Ray Shields at rayshields@msn.com, or 360-671-3072. Bring as many top blanks as you can! NWW will be set up at the west end of the field, just outside of the track.
Grandparents are Tops
The first Sunday after Labor Day is the day for Grandparents are Tops at the Everett Children’s Museum from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. If you would like to take a hand in turning or just look, come on by! The Museum is located at 1502 Wall Street in Everett (children 12 and under FREE).
